PPR Pipe Installation Precautions:


The surface of the pipes and fittings to be welded must be kept clean and free of oil. It is recommended to use 95% alcohol to clean it.


Before welding, the welder dies head must be cleaned with a clean soft cloth. The temperature of the welding machine is set to 260±10°C. If a PPR special welding machine is used, it is locked at 260°C, and only the green light is on. The pipes and fittings should be inserted into the die head to be heated at the same time, and the heating time should strictly abide by the specifications. After being pulled out from the die head, the insertion and fusion should be completed within the specified fusion time.


The hot-melt pipe shall not exceed the depth of the drawn line to prevent the inner hole of the pipe fitting from being blocked by too much spillage during the hot melt. Do not use an oil pen to draw the line to prevent ink from contaminating the surface to be welded.


Do not rotate pipes and fittings when plugging in, and insert them vertically. After normal welding, there should be two circles of even and clean overflow on the joint end face.


When welding elbows, tee fittings, and valves, attention should be paid to their direction, and the reinforcing ribs on the surface of the fittings can be used as a reference for the direction.


Pipelines should be far away from heat sources, and should not be directly connected to the inlet and outlet of heat sources such as water heaters and water boilers. Metal corrugated hoses or metal pipes should be used for transition connections, and the length of the transition connection pipe section should not be less than 350mm.


The pipes laid directly buried (including laying in the wall and laying in the floor surface) shall not be connected by threads or flanges.


When installing pipe fittings with metal thread connections such as valves and faucets, it is required to wrap several layers of PTFE sealing tape (raw material tape) on the external thread as the sealing medium. If disassembly is required, replace the raw tape when reinstalling.


When installing pipe fittings with inserts, use a wrench or manually tighten them. The force should be gentle. Over-tightening the pipe fittings may cause cracks and cause water leakage and slippage. Care must be taken not to over-tighten.

Effective waterproofing measures shall be taken at the pipe crossing level and at the exterior wall of the basement. Where the load-bearing wall passes through, a hole should be reserved, and the margin of the pipe in the hole should be greater than the settlement of the building.


When constructing in severe winter areas, avoid stepping on, colliding, throwing, and knocking on pipes.

The pressure test must be carried out before the concealed pipeline is buried.


If you want to make some adjustments to the welding part, the adjustment angle should not exceed 5°, and it must be adjusted immediately after the welding is completed (the time from pulling out from the welding machine die should not exceed the fusion time in the hot melt parameter table), otherwise, it will cause connection defects.


Hot water pipes and cold water pipes should be laid in parallel. When laying horizontally, the hot water pipe should be laid on the outside, when laying up and down, the hot water pipe should be laid on the top, and when laying vertically, the hot water pipe should be on the left (generally, when the temperature of the faucet is adjusted, it is left-handed hot water and right-handed cold water).


The concealed laying of pipes embedded in the wall should be combined with the groove reserved for civil engineering. If there is no specification for the size design, the depth of the wall groove is dn+(20~30)mm, and the width is dn+(20~30)mm. If the horizontal groove is longer or the groove depth exceeds 1/3 of the wall thickness, the consent of the structural professional should be obtained. The surface of the groove should be flat, and there should be no protrusions such as sharp corners, and the pipeline should have fixing measures.


After the pipeline pressure test is qualified, the wall corners shall be filled with M10 cement mortar. When the hot water branch pipe is directly buried, the thickness of the M10 mortar layer covering its surface shall not be less than 20mm.
